1. How does LMCU’s Refer a Friend program work? Existing members can invite friends (anyone eligible who’s not already a member) to join LMCU. The member (also known as the Advocate) will provide the friend a referral link and, after the friend becomes a member and meets the requirements, both the referrer and friend will have $50 deposited into their Member Savings accounts.

  2. Who is eligible to participate in the Refer a Friend program? To be eligible to refer friends, members must be 18 years or older, U.S. residents, and the primary member on an active LMCU account. Nonmembers being referred cannot be a primary member (currently or in the past) or a joint owner on an existing LMCU account within the prior 12 months.

    LMCU employees, board members, former primary members, joint owners, and residents of California are ineligible for the referral program.

  3. How do I refer friends? Use the Refer a Friend page to input your email and get your own unique referral link. Then, share your referral link with others via email, text, social media, etc. You can also have LMCU send an email to your friend on your behalf through the Refer a Friend page.

  4. Is there a limit to how many friends I can refer? While there is no limit to how many friends you can refer, each member can earn up to $500 through the Refer a Friend program per calendar year. If a member has already reached the $500 threshold and refers someone to LMCU, only the friend they referred would receive the $50 reward.

  5. Can I refer someone who used to be an LMCU member? Former LMCU members may be referred as long as their membership ended at least 180 days prior to the referral.

  6. My friend forgot to use my referral link when they became a member. Can we still get our rewards? Unfortunately, no. The referral link is required to track the referral process and associate it with your accounts. Make sure to emphasize the importance of using the referral link when referring friends in the future.

  7. How and when will I receive my referral reward? The reward will be deposited into your Member Savings account within 14 business days of your friend meeting all program requirements. You and your friend will receive an email confirming the reward has been deposited into your accounts.

  8. Can I track the status of my referrals? Yes. Visit the Refer a Friend page and use the My Stats link to see details on pending and completed referrals.
